Organizations, by virtue of being created, run and populated by people, are the crucibles in which this change is enacted. For many of us, work is our life and our identity, and thus how organizations deal with change impacts the way we feel and think about ourselves.

Slowly but surely, organizations big and small have shifted from stable, orderly places of work to volatile, change-driven ones. The pressure of growth and survival has created turmoil in virtually every aspect of organizational life. And the most profound impact of this turmoil is on the people who are at the heart of every organization.
